Alaçatı's south bay is one of Turkey's best-known windsurfing spots. The peninsula shields the water from heavy swell while the wind stays steady, so schools line the shore and beginners can learn without feeling thrown straight into open sea.
You do not need to surf to enjoy it. On a windy afternoon the bay is alive with sails and kites, and it gives Alaçatı a sharper edge than the boutique lanes in the village centre.
