Konyaaltı

Konyaaltı is the western district of Antalya, stretching along the coast below the cliffs. It is defined by its beach — a long pebble strip that is the city's main public bathing spot — and the residential and commercial area that has grown up behind it. The AntalyaRay tram connects Konyaaltı to the city centre, making it easy to combine a beach morning with an afternoon at the museum.

The district is less tourist-intensive than Kaleiçi and has a more local character: neighbourhood restaurants, family beach clubs, and evening promenades along the waterfront. Akdeniz University is at the western end, giving the area a young and slightly bohemian edge.
