Bodrum Amphitheatre

Bodrum Amphitheatre is an ancient hillside theatre begun under Mausolos in the 4th century BC and later reshaped by the Romans in the 2nd century AD. Its stone seating looks back toward Bodrum and the harbour, making the site as much a viewpoint as an archaeological stop.

The theatre was restored in the late 20th century and is still used for events. Even outside performance times, it is an easy and worthwhile stop for the view and the sense of Bodrum's ancient Carian past.
