Kazdağı National Park

Kaz Dağı, known in classical tradition as Mount Ida, rises above the Gulf of Edremit and gives the district its strongest claim on a traveller's time. The south-facing slopes form Kazdağı National Park, a protected mountain landscape of forests, valleys, and views over the northern Aegean.

The main access is from the Pınarbaşı side, where roads climb from the coast into cooler air. Come for hiking, picnics, and the change of scale: after the resort strip and olive plains, the mountain feels like a separate world.
