Vahab-i Ummi Hill

The tomb of Vahab-i Ummi, a 16th-century Sufi poet and preacher, stands on the hill at the north edge of Elmali. The climb is short, and the reward is part shrine, part view back over the town and its orchards.

A little higher up is Chained Rock, tied to a local legend in which the falling stone was stopped before it crushed the faithful below. It is a small story, but exactly the sort of local detail that makes Elmali more than a bus stop.
