Karaman Museum

Archaeology and ethnography museum covering the long history of the Karaman plain.

Karaman Museum is small but useful, especially before you head out to the ruins around the province. Its archaeology and ethnography rooms cover material from prehistoric periods through the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, Karamanid, and Ottoman eras.

The standout exhibit is the so-called Manazan woman, a remarkably preserved medieval body found in a cave settlement nearby. It is a reminder that the plateau around Karaman has always been more layered than it first appears.
