Getting There

Kayseri Airport (ASR) receives direct flights from Istanbul (multiple daily), Ankara, and several European cities including Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and London during the Cappadocia tourist season. It is the most convenient air gateway for the Cappadocia region and is 5 kilometres from the city centre.

By high-speed train, Kayseri is connected to Ankara via the YHT network — the journey takes about 2.5 hours. From Istanbul, the train goes via Ankara (total around 6–7 hours). Intercity buses run frequently from Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, and all major Turkish cities; the Kayseri otogar (bus terminal) is a short taxi ride from the centre.

For Cappadocia, shared minibuses (servis) run from the airport and city centre to Göreme and Ürgüp, typically timed to meet arriving flights.
