Anadolu Citadel is a late-14th-century fortress on the Asian side of the Bosphorus, built where the strait narrows near the Goksu creek. The interior is not normally open, but the fort, waterfront, and surrounding old wooden houses make it a worthwhile stop on a Bosphorus outing.
