Mua Cave (Hang Mua, or Dragon Mountain) involves a climb of 500 stone steps up the side of a karst peak to a viewing platform and a large stone dragon sculpture at the summit. The panoramic view from the top takes in the entire Tam Coc valley — rice paddies, rivers, and limestone peaks extending in every direction — and is the most photographed viewpoint in Ninh Binh.
The climb is physically demanding — allow 30–40 minutes up at a steady pace — and the steps are steep enough to require good footwear. The site is tourist-heavy but the views genuinely justify the effort. Go early morning or late afternoon for the best light and temperature.
At the base, the site has a small cave temple (the actual Mua Cave, entered through a low passage) and a modest garden. Entry fee payable at the gate.
