Tay Ninh is about 100 kilometres northwest of Ho Chi Minh City — roughly ninety minutes by road. Most visitors come on organised day tours that combine the Cao Dai noon ceremony with the Cu Chi tunnels on the return leg; these tours leave from the backpacker district of Ho Chi Minh City early in the morning and are the most convenient option.
Independent travel is straightforward by road: buses depart from Ho Chi Minh City's Tay Ninh bus station (Bến xe Tây Ninh) throughout the day. Motorbike taxi or car hire from Ho Chi Minh City gives more flexibility. The town itself is small and navigable by motorbike taxi or bicycle.
