Getting Around

The town is small enough to cross on foot in 20 minutes, but the sun and the layout — Front Beach on one side, Back Beach on the other, with hills in between — make it a tiring walk in the middle of the day. Rented scooters are the standard solution; small hotels arrange them for a few dollars a day. Grab and traditional taxis are cheap and plentiful for short trips.

For climbing up to the Christ statue, the lighthouse, or Hồ Mây, scooters work best — the roads are steep and the heat unforgiving for walking uphill.
