Socotra's attractions are almost entirely natural and almost entirely require a 4x4 and a local guide to reach. The infrastructure is minimal and the distances between attractions are significant. Most visitors arrange multi-day tours that move between the island's ecological zones — the northern coast, the Hajhir Mountains, the Diksam Plateau, and the western beaches — using camping or basic guesthouses.
