Ofu-Olosega Bridge

The Asaga Strait Bridge is a single-lane concrete span connecting Ofu and Olosega across the narrow reef channel that separates them. It's short enough to walk in under a minute, but stopping in the middle gives you a fine view down through the clear water to the reef below, with both islands framing either side. The bridge is the only land connection between the two islands and is the obvious starting point for walking over to Olosega.

Built in 1979 as a prestressed concrete girder bridge, it replaced an earlier crossing and is still the main piece of infrastructure linking the two communities. There's no particular ceremony to crossing it, but doing so on foot — which takes about thirty seconds — is the standard way to get between the two islands. Vehicles use it too, though there isn't much traffic.

A story
The Asaga Strait between Ofu and Olosega is just 137 metres wide but was a meaningful barrier between the two communities for centuries; before the bridge was built in 1970, crossing required a boat or swimming the shallow reef channel.
