Ebor Falls

Ebor Falls is a two-tiered waterfall on the Guy Fawkes River, about 70 km east of Armidale on the Waterfall Way — one of the most scenic drives in New South Wales. The upper falls drop about 80 metres into a deep pool, and the lower falls a further 60 metres. A short walking track from the carpark takes you to lookout platforms above both tiers.

The falls are at their best after rain, when the volume of water turns the drop into a roaring cascade. Even in dry conditions the setting is dramatic: the river cuts through basalt columns and rainforest at the edge of the tablelands. The road between Armidale and Ebor passes through paddocks of rolling New England farmland before the landscape shifts as you near the escarpment. Allow half a day for the round trip, or combine it with Cathedral Rock National Park on the same drive.
