Mad Max 2 Museum

Cult film museum in Silverton devoted to the outback world of Mad Max 2

The Mad Max 2 Museum is a wonderfully specific reason to detour from Broken Hill to Silverton. The 1981 film was shot in the surrounding outback, and the museum leans into that history with vehicles, props, photographs, and fan-made material that connect the movie's desert look to the real Mundi Mundi plains.

It is a niche stop, but a good one: short, eccentric, and very much of the far west New South Wales landscape. Combine it with Silverton's old pub, galleries, and lookout rather than treating it as a full-day attraction on its own.
