Mundi Mundi Lookout

Open outback viewpoint beyond Silverton, looking across the vast Mundi Mundi Plains.

Mundi Mundi Lookout is where the Barrier Ranges drop away and the country suddenly turns enormous. The view west over the Mundi Mundi Plains is almost absurdly flat, the kind of horizon that makes Broken Hill's mining streets feel very far behind you.

It is an easy extension from Silverton and one of the best sunset stops in the area. The lookout is simple and exposed, so bring water and do not expect facilities beyond the view. Film fans will recognise why this landscape has been used so often: it looks like the edge of the map.
