Park Beach is the long sandy strip immediately north of the harbour breakwater and the most popular swimming beach in town. The Surf Life Saving Club patrols a section of it between the flags from September to April, and the dunes behind are part of a small coastal reserve with picnic tables, barbecues and a kids' playground.
Surf is usually small to moderate, with a southerly point break near the harbour wall on the right swells. The carpark and shower facilities make this the easiest beach to use as a passing visitor; the cafe at the surf club is open from breakfast through dinner most of the year.
