Gosangs Tunnel

Low sandstone tunnel opening onto sea-cliff views near Mermaids Inlet.

Gosangs Tunnel is a narrow natural passage through the sandstone on the northern side of Abrahams Bosom Reserve. You crouch or crawl through the low opening and come out above the sea, with cliffs, reefs, and open water suddenly filling the view.

The tunnel is reached on foot from the Abrahams Bosom car park, usually combined with Mermaids Inlet on the same walk. It is not a place to rush or to visit in bad weather: the rock ledges beyond the tunnel are exposed, and the experience depends on staying well back from the cliff edge.
