Mermaids Inlet

Cliff-edged inlet and lookout reached on foot from Abrahams Bosom Reserve.

Mermaids Inlet is the wild little payoff near Gosangs Tunnel: a cut in the sandstone coast where the ocean pushes into a narrow slot below the cliffs. The views are excellent, especially when the swell is moving, but this is a lookout rather than a swimming spot.

Most walkers visit it as part of the same out-and-back from Abrahams Bosom Reserve. The track is short enough for a half-day, but the coast here feels far less tame than Currarong village, so keep children close and stay off wet rock.
