The Australian Standing Stones are Glen Innes' most distinctive landmark: a ring of granite monoliths built in the early 1990s to honour the Celtic settlers of the district. It could have been kitsch, but the scale, hilltop setting, and weathered stone make it more memorable than expected.
Come up for the views as much as the monument. The site is also the heart of the town's Australian Celtic Festival.
