Narrandera Flora and Fauna Reserve protects river red gum country on the edge of town, and it is the most distinctive local stop. Koalas live here in the trees, along with kangaroos, wallabies, waterbirds, and other river wildlife.
The self-guided walk is easy enough for a casual visit, but do not rush it. Spotting koalas usually means slowing down, scanning high branches, and letting your eyes adjust to the grey shapes in the leaves.
