Sheba Dams

Historic hand-built mining dams near Hanging Rock, now used for picnics, short walks, and fossicking country.

Sheba Dams are a quiet side trip near Hanging Rock, built in the mining era to supply water for gold work. Today the dams are more about a picnic, a short bush walk, and the sense of the old diggings hidden among trees.

They are not a reason to drive to Nundle by themselves, but they round out a good goldfields day. Combine them with Hanging Rock Lookout and the museum in town.
