Tathra Beach runs north from the town headland in a broad pale curve. The southern end is the most practical spot, with surf-club facilities and easier access, while the longer northern stretch gives you room to walk and find quieter sand.
Surf conditions vary, so swim between the flags when patrols are operating. Even if you do not swim, the beach gives Tathra its open, relaxed feel.
