Boonoo Boonoo National Park gives Tenterfield its water and forest contrast. The river runs through granite country before dropping at Boonoo Boonoo Falls, with picnic areas, walking tracks, and swimming spots in the wider park.
Check road and weather conditions before heading out, especially after rain. The park is close enough for a half-day trip but good enough to combine with Bald Rock if you start early.
