Blackall's aquatic centre is more than a local pool because the warm water comes from the Great Artesian Basin, the underground resource that made much of inland Queensland liveable. After hours on the highway, a soak here feels like practical luxury.
Check current opening times before counting on it, especially outside peak travel periods. It is best as a late-day reward after the woolscour and town sights.
