Cloncurry Unearthed sits at Mary Kathleen Memorial Park and is both the visitor centre and the town's local museum. It is useful first for maps and road advice, then for the displays on minerals, mining machinery, and the wider district.
The Mary Kathleen material gives the place extra bite. The uranium town was built, worked, and then dismantled, leaving Cloncurry with the memory of a boom that briefly made the empty country feel planned and permanent.
