The Cunnamulla Fella Centre is the place to start. Outside stands the bronze stockman inspired by Stan Coster's song and made famous by Slim Dusty; inside are the visitor centre, a local museum, an art gallery, and the Artesian Time Tunnel.
The water story matters here. The Great Artesian Basin made settlement, grazing, and mining possible across much of inland Queensland, and the centre explains that better than a quick roadside sign ever could.
