Customs House Museum

Customs House Museum occupies the old border customs point from the years before Australian Federation, when goods crossing between Queensland and New South Wales could be taxed. The restored timber buildings and cottage garden make it more than a room of display cases.

Inside are photographs, objects, and local-history displays covering early settlement, wool, agriculture, floods, and the river border. It is the one stop in Goondiwindi that clearly explains why the town is where it is.
