Things to Do

Sandgate's appeal is its Victorian character and bayside setting. The pier, the foreshore park, the heritage-listed town hall, and the well-preserved streetscape of Flinders Parade give the suburb a distinct identity within Brisbane. Shorncliffe, immediately to the east, has additional heritage buildings and its own beach and pier. Together they make a half-day trip from Brisbane's city centre that feels genuinely removed from the urban sprawl.
