Banrock Station Wetlands

Ramsar-listed Murray wetland complex with boardwalks, birdlife, wine, and floodplain views.

Banrock Station Wetlands sit west of Barmera near Kingston on Murray, combining a working wine property with restored floodplain habitat. The draw is the mix: boardwalks, birdlife, reeds, lagoons, and a cellar-door setting that makes conservation feel less abstract.

It is not in Barmera itself, but it is close enough to make sense as part of a Barmera day. Go for a walk before tasting wine, especially in cooler weather when the wetlands have more life and the Riverland sun is less blunt.
