Edithburgh Jetty is the town's real claim on a traveller's time. From above it looks like a simple working jetty; below the surface its pylons are a dense little reef of sponges, soft corals, nudibranchs, crabs, fish, and the occasional leafy seadragon. The depth is shallow enough for confident snorkellers in good conditions, while divers come for underwater photography and night dives.
Access is unusually easy for a shore dive, with steps from the jetty and no boat required. Conditions still matter: easterly weather can spoil visibility, and anyone diving here should treat it as a real marine site rather than a casual swim. Even if you stay dry, the jetty is the best place in town to feel Edithburgh's mix of fishing port, holiday village, and marine life.
