The Pink Roadhouse is the practical heart of Oodnadatta and the photo everyone seems to take on the track. It sells fuel and food, gives road advice, handles post office basics, and runs the kind of workshop services that matter when the next help is a very long way away.
It is also a piece of outback theatre. The colour, signs, maps, books, and travellers' chatter make it more than a service stop, especially if you have been driving through dust for hours.
