Getting There

Port Adelaide is about 14 kilometres northwest of central Adelaide. The most atmospheric way to get there from the city is by train on the Port Dock line from Adelaide Station, which runs direct to Port Adelaide station. Trains run roughly every 30 minutes during the day; the journey takes about 25 minutes.

By car, Port Adelaide is straightforward to reach via Port Road from the city centre. Parking is generally easy and free around the inner harbour precinct.

From Port Adelaide, the heritage Semaphore Tram runs to Semaphore Beach on weekends — a fun addition to a day trip combining the port's museums with the beach.
