Ocean Beach

Ocean Beach is the west coast at its rawest: a long, empty line of sand and dunes facing the Southern Ocean. The waves here have crossed thousands of kilometres before hitting Tasmania, and even on a calm day the place feels exposed.

Come for a walk, not a swim. The surf is dangerous, the wind can be fierce, and the scale is the attraction. Sunset can be magnificent when the weather opens.
