Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens sit on the summit of an extinct volcano just above town. The gardens date from the 19th century and still have the old-country feel of elms, oaks, conifers, lawns, and shaded paths.
Climb for the view as much as the planting. It is one of the easiest ways to understand Daylesford's setting among green hills rather than only its main street.
