Getting There

Echuca is about 200 kilometres north of Melbourne on the Northern Highway — a straightforward three-hour drive through flat farming country. There are no tolls, and the road is well-maintained. Most visitors drive.

The V/Line train service from Melbourne's Southern Cross Station runs to Echuca via Bendigo, with a bus connection from Bendigo. The total journey takes around three hours and runs several times daily. It is a reasonable option if you don't want to drive, though having a car in Echuca makes the surrounding red gum country and side trips to Moama much easier.

Echuca Airport has a small general aviation strip but no scheduled commercial services. The nearest commercial airport with regular flights is Bendigo.
