Rocky Valley Reservoir gives Falls Creek its big open view. The water sits just beyond the village, framed by rounded alpine ridges and snow gums, and it changes the feel of the place from a compact ski village to a high-country basin.
In the snow-free months it is a natural target for an easy walk, a picnic, photography, or paddling when conditions allow. In winter it is mostly a backdrop, but a good one.
