Betka Beach is one of Mallacoota's easiest ocean-beach escapes, just south of town where the Betka River reaches the sea. It gives you surf, sand, river shallows, and bushland in one place, which makes it more varied than a simple swimming beach.
Conditions can change with swell and tide, so treat it like an open coast rather than a patrolled city beach. At low tide the river mouth and sand flats are especially good for a slow wander.
