Captain Stephenson's Point is a handy lookout on the edge of Mallacoota, with views over the entrance, beaches, and surrounding coast. It is close enough to town for a quick walk or drive, but it gives a clear sense of how Mallacoota sits between inlet and ocean.
Come early or late for softer light and less heat. It is a simple stop, but a good first orientation before heading farther into Croajingolong.
