Naked for Satan is a Brunswick Street institution built around a bizarre local legend — a Russian vodka distiller said to have worked an illegal still beneath the building, getting so hot at the task that he stripped off, "naked for Satan." The ground floor is a loud, popular bar serving cheap pintxos (small skewered snacks) and a long list of infused vodkas and cocktails.
The real draw is upstairs: Naked in the Sky, a rooftop bar with some of the best open-air views in the inner north, looking back over the Fitzroy rooftops to the city towers. It gets busy and loud, especially at sunset on a warm evening, which is exactly the point. Come for a drink and the view rather than a quiet conversation.
