The Razorback is one of Victoria's classic alpine walks, a high ridge linking the Hotham area with Mt Feathertop. It starts near Diamantina Hut, about 2.5 km from Hotham village, and follows open country with long views rather than shelter.
The full out-and-back to Mt Feathertop is a hard day of about 22 km. The route is well known, but it is exposed to sudden bad weather, and in winter it belongs to experienced parties only. On a clear summer or autumn day, it is the walk that justifies Hotham even for non-skiers.
