Getting There

Oakleigh is about 16 kilometres southeast of Melbourne's CBD, in the City of Monash.

By train, Oakleigh Station is on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines, both of which run from Flinders Street Station and City Loop stations. The journey from Flinders Street takes around 25 to 30 minutes. Trains run frequently during peak hours and at regular intervals throughout the day and evening. From Oakleigh Station, Eaton Mall is a five-minute walk along Portman Street.

The Frankston line does not stop at Oakleigh but serves nearby stations at Ormond and Huntingdale, each about a 15-minute walk from the Eaton Mall precinct.

By car, Oakleigh is reached via the Princes Highway (Route 1) from the city, or via the Monash Freeway (M1) and local roads from the east. Parking is available in the streets around Eaton Mall and in the nearby shopping centre carpark, though weekend evenings can be congested.

Trams do not serve Oakleigh directly. The suburb is well within the Melbourne metropolitan area and covered by the standard Myki ticketing system used on all public transport.
