Paynesville Harbour and Canals

Waterfront jetties, quiet canals, and small-boat access to the Gippsland Lakes

Paynesville's centre is built around the water. The Esplanade faces the Raymond Island ferry, side streets lead to marinas and canals, and the town is set up for people arriving with boats, kayaks, bicycles, or no plan beyond a slow walk by the jetties.

The harbour is not a formal attraction, but it is the place's identity. Use it as a base for a waterfront walk, a ferry crossing, or a calm-weather paddle into the Gippsland Lakes. If you only have an hour, this is where to spend it.
