Lake Guthridge and the Sale Botanic Gardens make the town's easiest walk. The artificial lake was developed from a low wetland in the 1880s, and the gardens now sit on its eastern side.
Come here for a quiet circuit rather than a major sight. There are lawns, garden beds, birdlife, and enough water and shade to make it a good reset after the highway.
