Eating Out

Warrnambool has a decent selection of restaurants and cafes for a regional town. The dining scene leans towards pub meals and seafood, as you would expect from a coastal town. Liebig Street in the town centre has the highest concentration of options — cafes, a few BYO restaurants, and the inevitable bakeries that anchor any Australian country town.

The Hopkins River mouth and the harbour attract fresh catch: abalone is farmed nearby, crayfish come in from the south-west, and flathead and whiting are reliable. Several restaurants along the foreshore precinct make good use of local produce.
