Shelley Beach is a quieter Bass Coast beach reached from the Bass Highway rather than from Wonthaggi's main beach strip. It is more rugged than polished, with rock fishing and a surf break around Black Head.
Check conditions before swimming or fishing. This is open coast, and the appeal is the wilder setting as much as the sand.
