Carnarvon is on the North West Coastal Highway, about 900 km north of Perth and 365 km south of Exmouth. Long-distance coaches on the Perth-to-Broome route stop in town, and the airport has regional services that change with schedules and demand.
Most travellers arrive by car or campervan. That is also the easiest way to reach the blowholes, plantation roads, and heritage precinct without depending on taxis.
