Little Creatures opened on the eastern side of the Fishing Boat Harbour in 2000 in a converted boat shed and has become the most famous craft brewery in Australia, both for the beer and for the building. The vast hangar-like space — high ceilings, polished concrete, the brewing kit visible behind glass — is filled with long communal tables and is open for lunch, dinner, and drinks every day.
The pizzas and the wood-fired roasts are reliably good and the on-tap range covers the full house line as well as a rotating set of experimental beers. The Loft upstairs is the quieter option. In good weather, tables on the wharf outside fill up first; arrive before noon or after three on a weekend to avoid a queue.
