Swan River Cruise to Perth

The Swan River winds for fifteen kilometres between Fremantle and Perth, past mansions in Mosman Park, sheer limestone cliffs in Mosman Bay, and the open Perth Water below Kings Park. A regular river ferry — operated by Captain Cook Cruises and others — runs from Pier 3 in Fremantle to Barrack Street Jetty in Perth, taking around 90 minutes one way.

It is the most picturesque way to combine the two cities. Most travellers do the train one way and the river the other; tickets are available as a return or as a transfer. Wine tasting cruises through the Swan Valley vineyards north of Perth, leaving from the same jetty, are a popular alternative for a longer day on the water.
