Lake Kununurra is the permanent freshwater reach of the Ord River beside town. It is used for cruises, paddling, fishing, and birdwatching, and it gives Kununurra much of its unexpected green edge.
The lake is also a gentle way to understand the irrigation scheme that made the modern town possible.
